Abu Dhabi authorities announced the revamping of Sir Bani Yas Airport, located 250km southwest of the Abu Dhabi coast in Al Dhafra region, which serves as the primary gateway to the island.
The runway, taxiways, and apron pavements were fully reconstructed, and the airport’s lighting systems underwent a complete revitalisation to enhance both night operations and visibility for ground personnel, Abu Dhabi Airports said.
The Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) system has transitioned to high-performance LED technology; additionally, a new Airfield Lighting Control System (ALCS) has been introduced, authorities said.
